ONOGAMI

COMMENT

I've watched Dragon Ball since I was young, so much so that it's had a huge impact on my life. "ONOGAMI" is a song I wrote out of a desire to capture the fighters I found throughout Dragon Ball — not only Goku and the others, but also the characters who showed up as formidable enemies — those who fight with nothing but their own strength, who fight believing in "ono ga mi," their own bodies and selves.
I'm truly happy to be part of the world of a series that means so much to the whole country.
Thank you so much!

PROFILE

A formidable singer-songwriter and "utaite" with over 1.6 million YouTube subscribers and more than one billion total views on the platform. He built his following by posting "utattemita (I tried singing)" cover videos primarily on YouTube, winning fans with commanding vocals and an expressive style that vividly brings each song's world to life. In July 2023 he performed the opening theme for season 2 of the TV anime Mononogatari, and in August of the same year the theme song for the TV Tokyo drama Black Postman — proof that his work reaches far beyond the utaite scene into the wider music world.

COMMENT

As a boy I turned the pages of the manga completely absorbed, and got up early every week to watch the TV anime. All these years later, being able to take part as a musician is a true honor! This song means a great deal to me — I brought out everything I had inside, from the "strength" and "courage" Dragon Ball has always portrayed to the "sorrow" and "injustice" that were always there in the shadows.
