A Saiyan raised on Earth. He has a kind heart and deeply values the allies gained through his search for the Dragon Balls and his training, but he also loves to fight and is forever chasing greater strength.
The God of Destruction who maintains the balance of the universe, a being of overwhelming power. He had been asleep for ages, but upon hearing rumors of Son Goku — the Saiyan said to have defeated Frieza, Emperor of the Universe — he sets out for Earth.
The attendant of Beerus, God of Destruction, who is by his side. Using his ability to travel between planets at high speed, he brings Beerus to Earth.
A fish-like creature that lives on Beerus's planet. It can see into the future, and it predicts that a "Super Saiyan God" will appear before Beerus as a powerful opponent.
A Saiyan born as the prince of Planet Vegeta. He used to be ruthless, but after starting a family on Earth, he has found a gentler side. He trains every day to surpass Goku.
Goku's wife and the mother of Gohan and Goten. She was strong enough to reach the finals of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. Since marrying, she has put studying ahead of fighting, and she keeps the Son family together as a strict, education-focused mom.
The son of Goku and Chi-Chi and Gohan's younger brother. He was born with tremendous potential, and his fighting skills have grown naturally since early childhood from playing with Trunks.
The god who watches over the North Galaxy and taught Goku the Kaio-ken and the Spirit Bomb. Goku still often trains on King Kai's planet. He also has a love of puns.
The Supreme Kai, the god who oversees the universe, fused with his attendant Kibito through an item called the "Potara." He usually stays in the Sacred World of the Kai with Elder Kai.
The current Supreme Kai's ancestor from 15 generations back. When he senses that a planet has been destroyed somewhere in the universe, he knows that Beerus, God of Destruction, has woken from his long sleep.
The world martial arts champion and the hero who (supposedly) saved Earth from Majin Buu. After becoming friends with Majin Buu, he grows closer to Goku and the others.
